Introduction

I am here with the review of Oriveti’s new price-performance entry-level model Lowmaster. This 2+1 configuration iem also looks assertive in the lower frequencies with its name. Let’s see if this iem, which attracts attention with its name and the bleqk label on the shells, is really a master?

I purchased the product myself with the intention of writing an independent review. After spending 100+ hours with it, I wrote my review.

Build/Design

Oriveti Lowmaster welcomes us with an adequate presentation for a product in this price band. There are no extras in the box except the carrying case and tips. The quality of the carrying case is exquisite. The tips are enough. I preferred the wide bore tips. The cable quality does not impress, but I thank Oriveti for not hiding the poor quality behind the black color. This is still a pretty decent cable.

Shells

The first zinc of this iem starts here. Not only are the shells quite charismatic, they’re also quite small. They fit perfectly in the ear, and the isolation is adequate. They fit very well in your ear without any discomfort.

Pairing & Synergy

Oriveti bleqk Lowmaster has a balanced, slightly warm and very well adjusted tonality. In the testing phase I paired it with my newly acquired Fiio Q15 and with my existing Se300 and Dc07pro. Obviously it played well with all of them. I can say that it might be one of the rare iems in this price band: you can pair it to your heart’s content with a source you like the sound of 🙂 The Oriveti Lowmaster is a very balanced W-shape and seems to go wherever you pull it.

Sound

As I said, Oriveti bleqk Lowmaster is a very balanced iem. It has a slightly warm side, of course it’s not fully analytical in character, but the mid range is transparent enough. I would say average for the lower frequencies and above average for the mid-treble.

Bass

Although the name is Lowmaster, I can say that the lower frequencies are instrumentally average. It has a technically adequate bass response for hiphop, pop and EDM. When it comes to the instruments, the lower frequencies are still punchy and not dissipating, but not deep enough. I heard a small amount of midbass hum, but it was very little, which I think is tolerable for this price. Other than that, the lower frequencies are very good in terms of texture and speed.

Mid

Guitar, vocals, violin, piano, trumpet, woodwinds All instruments in the mid-range are well separated, textured and natural sounding. For the Oriveti Lowmaster has a very transparent, very well layered and realistic enough mid-frequency response. In this range, Oriveti Lowmaster gently pushes the vocals forward and aligns the rest of the instruments. I’ll talk more about this in the technique section

Treble

The Oriveti Lowmaster has very detailed and forgiving highs. It’s airy enough and the cymbals sound natural. The trebles have a balanced profile in themselves but shine bright enough and support the mids. They’re not the best at revealing microdetails, but they’re quite detailed for a $150 iem. Smooth and lively at the same time.

Technique

Although it has an average resolution, when I was considering the Oriveti Lowmaster from a technical point of view, the thought crossed my mind that “in the past you had to pay a lot more for this level of technique”. Maybe because it has a tonality that is balanced and compatible with almost every musical genre, it has a fine technical performance. It’s an average performer in the lower frequencies, but it does a great job in the midrange and it’s not bad in the highs.

When it comes to soundstage, despite good separation and good layering, the positioning is not very good, so the imaging performance is average. Still, width, depth and consistency are very good.

Last Words

The Oriveti bleqk Lowmaster is an entry-level player that I quite like among the current iems. I think this iem is above average, with good tonality picking up some little things and bringing out the best in it.
